How to rebuild Poulan chainsaw?

my chainsaw will not stay running it keeps shutting off how do i rebuild the motor

if it runs for good for about 5 min or so and starts losing power and then finally shut off. you either have a crack in your crank case cover or you need new piston rings. need the model number and more info to help

Its likely not your motor but your carb. Probably needs adjusting, cleaning, or a rebuild kit installed.

Don't bother.  Mine has been in the shop enough to have bought a good one.  Besides most of the chain oil leaks out whenever it is cut off.  I will never own another Poulan.  Get a Stihl.

poulan chain saws are disposable not worth repairing go get yourself a husky or a stihl they are worth the money
