  1. I assume this is for your recruitment, that is, to record your own game.

The best way to do this depends on your position.  If you want to highlight your backrow strengths, set up a camera on a tripod at the net, facing the team, at the ground level (you can also get someone to shoot it for you.)  If you are a strong attacker, set up the camera between the ten foot line and the net, about level with the top of the net, so you can see your work at the net, both offense and defense.  If you manage to get someone to shoot it, get both your team and the team you're playing by smoothly moving the camera back and forth.  If you set up the camera so that the image encompasses the whole court, it won't give enough detail of your movement, stance, etc.

Try and record a number of games.  I have seen a number of recruitment videos and the best are those that give a good idea of the skills, and also the personality (how you rally the team when you're behind, how you control yourself when you're winning, etc.)  If you can edit it, I would make a highlight "introduction," that is - 2-3 minutes of your most spectacular play, and leave the longer stuff for rest of the video.

Also, when you are sending the video, include a nice, well-written note about your strengths, noting subtly what coaches should look for, and relaying a little of your personality.  It is, after all, a team sport.

    Good luck!
