How to record console games to computer without dazzle/easycap?

From what I hear dazzle is pretty unreliable and I can't find any stores that sell easycap here, I was wondering what other devices are good to record console games to my computer.

You can use a DV camcorder

take you console RCA (the yellomwhite and red cables) cables and connect them to a camcorder

put the camcorder into playback mode and ure console will apear on ure camera
