How to record xbox 360 gameplay in HD?

I'll explain what i have -

A HDTV

An Xbox 360

An EasyCap capture card

2 double ended AV cables

2 splitters which have 3 female ports.

Ive tried lots of things people have done on youtube, yet none of the setups they use work on mine..how do i do it?
