Use a windows application RECORD SOUND to record anything 

First you need to meet the requirements to start the recording.

Plug a Mic with your computer and open sound recorder application

Open Start menu then programs

Open  Accessories then Entertainment and click the sound recorder.

Now you have to fix the sound settings for your Mic.

If you are using the Windows Xp the follow this procedure

Go to control panel and double click the Sound and audio device option

A pop up window will appear in front of you

Click the Audio tab

On the sound recording option click the Volume settings

Change the recording volume to high and uncheck the check button

Close the window and check the default device option

Apply these changes and close the main window

Now start the sound recording
