How to recover data from my external HDD?

Accidentally I deleted my external HDD partition while loading the OS (but not formatted), immediately I recognized tht i am doing wrong and removed the HDD USB, after installing OS I connected my HDD but now i am unable to view the HD.

Can anybody help me to make the external Hard Drive Partition Healthy? or to recover the data?

Anybody Please Help me out, it's my 8 Years Data collection.

  1. well it depends on your OS and service pak levels

    leave the drive alone- disconnect

    get a identical setup to test on

    contact the drive maker for advise

    ntfs drive manager may recover it

    check microsoft.com for info too.


  2. If you deleted the partition, it's not coming back. I assume you did this in a *nix environment, but if you did on Windows, then it would be in Recycle Bin.

  3. You need a disc editor. Do NOT install it on your external HDD. Recuva is a good one.

    Recuva (pronounced "recover"), is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!
