How to recover deleted history?

One of my 8 roommates uses everyone elses laptop/computer when they are not home. I walked into my room the other day and he was on my computer doing god knows what. When I went to check my history, it was delete. Today another of my roommates told me that the same guy was using my computer again. Now I understand that I could lock my computer or the door to my room everytime I leave, but I just don't remember to do it everytime. Is there any way that I can recover the history that he has deleted. I want to see what he is doing on my computer, and I want to be able to catch him in the future. Is there any possible way to do any of these?

I'm not sure about the History, but I am betting the invasive roommate doesn't delete ALL the information he gathers when he uses your computer.

Try checking out the cookies folder to see where your roommate has been going online. (this is for online things, unfortunately it will not show anything about what your roommate is doing on the computer if offline)

Also, you might also check if the Recent Documents has been cleared or not... if not, you will be able to see any of the recent documents your roommate has viewed on your computer.  Unfortunately, if Recent Documents is disabled, you will not see anything looked at if you enable it after he has been on your computer.

I think that keylogger is also a good idea, although I have never tried it.

Can just download a keylogger...usually can get 2 weeks out of them for free.
