How to recover the Acer Aspire 2920z with backup cd,if error is"fail to get Disk 0 partion 1 drive letter"?

i tried to make it xp,but i cant restore it.pls reply.

What exactly are you doing when you are trying to restore?

Usually a restore cd works after you reboot with the disk in the drive. During the bootup you should get a message like "press any key to boot of cd". Press the any key if you see that message and go thru the steps. Once this is done it should make ur computer like it was when you first bought it.

Keep in mind some manufactures provide several restore disks. If you have multiple ones you want to use the system or OS restore disk. You can use the other restore disk after windows gets installed.

sounds to me like the hard drive is goosed. The partitions on the drive are damaged at least

If that is the case the restore CD will not work, you will have to use a XP install disc then put the drivers on from the acer site. The hard drive will probably need to be replaced before you do this

If it is in warranty get on to acer and they should fix it for you
