Question:

How to redecorate my room?

It's currently blue and purple, a little kid like room. I last painted it when I was like 9. I'm 15 now. My comforter is green, kind of like this but lighter and a different quilted pattern: http://www.target.com/Woolrich-Medallion-Quilt-Green/dp/B000WY4FQO/qid=1218647458/ref=br_1_12/601-3985815-8746531?ie=UTF8&node=372865011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=372865011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=3

And I've got a chest and bookshelf that are dark wood, and a table that's yellow and light wood [it's from our local Subway].

I don't know what color to paint it. I was thinking a light-medium beige. I'll be in there for the next 3 years, and that's a nice classy color. But I was also thinking light green. But I don't want to get tired of it or grow out of it too quickly. Any other ideas for a color?

And what can I do to make it a fun room? I took down my posters cause they're old, so my walls are mostly bare. Any ideas at all for anything?

  1. You could do blue?  Or do two tone.  IKEA has great ideas for that kind of stuff.  And Pier 1.

    Have fun!

  2. I like your light beige, then maybe do 1 wall another color as an accent wall.  You could also get a cool, funky comforter with a bunch of colors in it to highlight your painting.  I saw a bunch of different comforters at http://www.perfectlinens.com they had a large selection and weren't too expensive.

  3. I would paint it a pretty yellow with a light green trim if you have pictures hang up some pictures or go to your local craft store and scrapbook some pictures with paper and embellisments and then hang that up your walls. Its a good way to jazz up the pictures and still have your room look good

  4. I don't think you'd get tired of like a suttle green too fast (just not lime green!) Like light green and chocoate brown would be pretty  like these colors...

But neutral is good too, then you could switch out other decorations to whatever colors you felt like withouth having to repaint. And if you went with the neutral you could hang fabric from ceiling to floor to cover your wall with it and make it like a substitute for paint or wallpaper, and you could switch that easily too. Goodluck!

  5. First off lets just say to give redecorating advice over the internet without seeing anything is hard to do but anyways. From what you said above I would do a tan with a dark brown accent wall then alternate opposite colors with the trim/base/crown moldings and doors. This way you are staying neutral and then you can use your green and yellow as accent colors, or whatever you decide on. This way you have great design with colors and yet flexible with the things you put in it.Hope this helps.

  7. Go with a neutral color like you said...that way if you get tired of the way your room looks you can change the assessories...change the comforter and the picture  frames, the curtains, a rug etc and it looks like you have re-done your whole room!
