How to relieve leg pain from hiking the grand canyon?

my mom just hiked 14 miles down the grand granyon and 9 miles back up in 2 days. she can hardly walk still after 3 days and her ankels are very swollen and her calves are rock hard. How can she relieve the pain?

  1. Well Hot Steam Shower or a hot bath and you need a good amount of protein to rebuild the muscle so eat some poultry or fish


  2. Cold bath, just like the rugby players have after every game, really good for the muscles and relieves the pain and tension instantly, at least if the pain is only waist down she will not have to submerse herself completely but if she does- it is also meant to be good for your hair (don't ask me why)  

  3. A good long soak in epsom salts and if you would massage her legs will provide her with some relief.
