  1. My doctor recommended regular Claritin, Sudafed, Robitussin and Tylenol for a cold/allergies during my pregnancy.

  2. try steaming up your bathroom and sitting in there awhile. it could help the congestion. benadryl was okayed for me to take, but that was also in the 2nd trimester.

dont take advil! your specificlly not supposed to take ibprofren pregnant!!

  3. I had a stuffy nose through most of my pregnancy.

Plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) is safe during pregnancy to help break up congestion, but avoid anything with a decongestant in it unless your doctor says it's OK. There is some thinking that decongestants may decrease blood flow to the uterus, but some docs recommend its use and have had no problems. I chose not to use it myself while pregnant.

The most effective things I did was to eat spicy chicken soup (many Mexican restaurants have it) and then blow my nose after the heat and spice loosened everything up. Also, saline sinus wash, comes in a can and you spray it up your nose to try to move things along.

  4. good question.  I had the same problem.  My doctor said I could take robatussin but and I heard you can take plain sudafed.  But please, ask your doctor before you do any.  We can give you suggestions and what we have been through, but your doctor may say something different.  I also heard saline solution in your nose to help with the congestion.  Good luck

  5. I sleep every night with a Breathe Right Strip on my nose.  It's so not s**y, but I can breathe!  Be sure to rub your nose with a toner and let dry before applying.  It will stick all night.

  6. Take advil
