Question:

How to remove Head unit from Honda civic?

I drive a Right hand drive 1999 Honda civic coupe.

Bought it second hand, and i want to change the head unit in it, as it is a very old one.

I can't seem to remove the current Kenwood head unit, as it is bolted down from the back. How do i remove it and where do i access the bolt from? Do i need to remove the whole dashboard?

Anyone have links i can get an idea on? or have physically done this that can run through with me?

thanks in advance.

  1. i will not recommend you to do it unless your confident enough.

before pulling the unit you will have to unclick or remove the dash kit surrounding it.

then you have to unscrew the unit from inside and then use clips supplied with the head unit (very hard to describe without diagram)then it can be puled out.

don't use pointed equipment or you may damage/scratch the dash

and see the user manual its all mentioned there...and why not go to nearest car audio dealer and get it done by him ?
