How to remove Industrial adhesive / sticky stuff from soft PCV?

Our pool ring is soft pvc and there is a sticky residue on the ring. We have tried all kinds of cleaners, nothing will work. We are worried about causing damage to the pool with harsh cleaners. Help please

Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.  I've used them lots of times to get sticky stuff of lots of surfaces.  It won't damage your pool either.
