Was caulking my tub, heard the kids fighting, inadvertently set a rag with wet caulk on bathroom vanity, left to referee the fight, when I returned 1 hr later it was set on my white vanity. How do I get it off without scratching the counter??

  1. Maybe you should ask at the local building center or hardware store for a product that will actually do the work for you.  It really is Caulk Remover.  But you should let them know what type of bath vanity surface you need to deal with.

Usually you can just scrape it off with a hard plastic putty-type tool. Not really a putty knife, but NOT metal!

good luck, and next time, give the kiddies a time out!

  2. Depending on the type of caulking, eg. silicone, for the last traces of silicone that just dont seem to come off try an eraser.  Yes   ...   lol   ...  an eraser that is used for pencils on paper.  Also, you have not mentioned what type of counter top you have so be wary of chemicals if it is acrylic.

  3. must have been a hellofa fight to last an hour... lol. No but all you have to do is use your thumb nail and scratch it free. It should come right off.
