How to remove front stabilizer bar on 2000 Dodge intrepid? ?

  1. 1. Raise and support vehicle.

    2. Remove belly pan.

    3. On each side of vehicle, remove nut fastening stabilizer link (similar to a tie rod) to stabilizer bar.

    4. Slide link ball joint stem from bar.

    5. On each side of vehicle, remove bolts fastening stabilizer bar isolator retainer in place. (clamps over bushings, toward middle)

    6. Remove stabilizer bar with isolators and retainers from vehicle.

    7. On each side of bar, remove retainers from around stabilizer bar isolators.

    8. Utilizing slit, remove each isolator from stabilizer bar.

    To install:

    1. Utilizing slit in isolator, install each stabilizer bar isolator on bar. Make sure slit in isolator is positioned toward rear of vehicle once installed on vehicle.

    2. Install stabilizer bar isolator retainer over each isolator.

    3. Install stabilizer bar ends to each stabilizer link. Slide link ball joint stem through mounting hole in bar. Make sure link ball joint stem is pointed inboard toward engine cradle. Loosely install nuts at this time.

    4. Raise stabilizer bar to engine cradle, placing bushings into mounted position.

    5. Install bolts securing each stabilizer bar isolator retainer to cradle.

    6. Tighten bolts to 44 ft. lbs. (60 Nm) torque.

    7. While holding stem from rotating at hex or flat tighten stabilizer link nuts at each end of stabilizer bar to 95 ft. lbs. (128 Nm) torque.

    8. Install belly pan.

    9. Lower vehicle.

    Only picture it has doesn't really show much, except upper sway bar link connection (#1), which is not the one you want to disconnect. You want to disconnect lower ones.

    #'s 2+3 are tie rod end, also left alone for this job.
