what is the best way to get gum out of a child's hair? I do not want to cut her hair, she didn't get very much in there, so I am hoping for an alternative to cutting it. Can anyone help me please

  1. Peanut Butter works best rub it on the gum then comb out. Other oils can work but peanut butter can be worked into the gum well so it doesn't hurt to comb it out. I have also heard ice will make the gum hard and crumble out (between your fingers) but I have never tried this method myself. Good Luck.

  2. PEANUT BUTTER

    A LOT

    IT WORKS

IT HAPPENED TO ME A FEW YEARS BACK...PEA NUT BUT TER, FOR REAL

  3. peanut butter. the oil in the peanut butter will loosen the gum and it will come right out. its a pain to wash the peanut butter out but if there is not much gum it shouldn't be that bad.

  4. Fold up a paper towel or napkin.  Dab a little oil on a paper towel. You can use olive oil, canola oil, baby oil, etc..  Then, section out where the gum is and stroke the gum.  The oil will dissolve it.  When it is done, just wash their hair.

I have done it with my little one and with my teenager.  It works like a charm and no cutting required.

  5. peanut butter or ice..

  6. There is this stuff at Home Depot in the paint section called Goof Off. It smells bad, but my husband came home with it when my child got gum in his hair. I had to shampoo his hair afterwords, but it worked.

  7. my daughter had gum in her hair a week ago USE peanut butter. rub it in her hair like conditioner. make sure its really thick and use a small tooth comb and comb it out then rinse i swear to god it works

  8. ice it to harden the gum, use conditioner to help it slide out. use your fingers, if possible, not a brush, and then a comb after just tiny bits are left. use cool water, not hot. hope this helps!

  9. smear mayonnaise on it and then slowly pull it out. The mayo will help it slide out easily. Let it sit on there for a couple minutes to break it down and the use your fingers to pick it out and then use a comb to get the tiny pieces out.
