I apparently had some gum in either my washer or dryer. I have a pair of white fine mesh briefs that have several gummy spots on them. Can they be saved?

  10. Possibly.

Liquid nitrogen would be brilliant, but is difficult to get hold of.

Ordinary ice would be worth a try - just leave it on the offending patches until they turn hard.

Next step, try 'Dirt Devil' stain remover for bubble gum - usually does the trick. Use as directed.

Failing that, there are commercial chemicals (often at dry cleaners) which should work - providing the people using them know HOW to use them.

    Hope that helps.
