How to remove gum stuck to my pups paw pad?

After walking my shih tzu today, my husband and I noticed that the dog was l*****g her foot more than usual. So we checked it out, and apparently when she walked in some grass...she got some gum and dirt stuck to her paw.

We tried to remove it with a warm damp wash cloth...like holding it there to loosen up the mess. It hasn't worked.

She is not walking funny or anything...will it wear off on its own or whats else is a good way to remove it?

  1. if your dog can stand it, use an ice cube, this always works to harden the gum so you can pick it off

    good, luck!

  2. The absolute best thing to use is goo gone. Just spray an ample amount on your pup and the gum will actually slide right off as you remove it. I have a Shepherd and anything that gets in him goo gone gets it out. It's effective, not greasy or sticky and not harmful. I would just suggest that afterwards just wipe her paw off with a warm rag to clean the area.

  3. Put Peanut Butter on the gum. THe oils will remove the gum..
