  1. a good mechanics hand cleaner would be best. or you can start by wetting your hands with mineral or olive oil this will cut the 'pepper oils' soap and water and do it again till it is all gone. be advised that if you have been handling raw peppers for more that a few minutes the oils will penetrate your skin  and now it won't come 'off' it has to come 'out' there is no external process that i am aware of to pull it 'out' next time get some inexpensive latex or better yet nitrate disposable gloves. tmm

  2. I did the same thing, fresh salsa from my garden.  Jalapeno squirted me right in the eye, so I was forced to take my contacts out.  It was worse than the tear gas room in Boot camp, 10 times worse, Gosh that sucked @ss.  I work in a body shop and I think our hand cleaner helped but not for sure threw my contacts and case away and wore my glasses all week just to make sure.  GOOD LUCK to anybody else, wear gloves!

  3. use fresh lemon and sugar and scrub

  4. OMG! I feel for you! I made a huge batch of fresh salsa and found out too late that soap and water just wont do it! And if that wasn't painful enough to remember, I did it again then next summer! Good luck! Maybe you can get a friend or spouse take them out for you.

  5. There's no cure.  I've done it numerous time.  The only helpful thing is latex gloves and time.

    Latex gloves  for handling peppers.

Latex glove for putting your contact lens in after you've handled peppers and forgot to wear gloves.

Time:  It takes about 2 or 2 days for the pepper to wear off your hands so you're able to take/put in your contacts.
