How to remove mastic spot on my pants?

while hiking in a nature i got nasty spot from mastic tree on my pants.i tried to wash with detergent several times in laundry but no success.

what to do any suggestions from housewives?

The only way I know of removing gum or resin from things without damaging the material is by taking an oil based stain remover. I am not sure which ones are best to use for the environment but that should dissolve the resin. Be sure to soak the pants in warm water and soap after you have used the oil, and gently scrub the area.

When I have a tough stain I soak it in 1/2 cup of oxiclean powder dissolved in a bucket of water an hour to three days, depending on how tough the stain is.  I know hair dye and black mold takes three days to come out.
