  1. No it won't help, it wil come back. You have an illegal copy of windows xp, otherwise you wuld not get the non genuine message.

I know, that reinstalling does not hekp, because last year it happend to me and did what yuou want to do. A lot of work for nothing, because the message came back.

You will have to buy a legal copy of windows xp. ( hope you still can buy xp ).

With this little program you can get rid of message, but it is only temp.

  2. YES DO A FULL FORMAT AND REINSTALL THE OS YOU WANT

  3. yeah.....should be without any problem....

  4. Copied from one of my other posts.......

Does it look like this, http://windowsobserver.com/gallery2/v/Wi...

If it does there are two ways to get rid of it.

    1) Right click the star in your task bar where the message is coming from. A menu should come with the option 'Change notification settings' or something similar, click it. It will take you to a webpage. There will be a checkbox saying 'I understand the risks blah blah blah' Just click 'I accept' and the warnings should go.

    If that doesn't work:

    2) Download AVG antispyware. Open it and go to the analysis section. There disable the process 'wgatray.exe'.

Close AVG and open my computer. Press Ctrl and F to open the search tool. Enable searching hidden files and folders and type wgatray.exe into the search box. Wait for the search to complete and delete any wgatray.exe file found. The taskbar star should go forever.

    Enjoy!!!

  5. it would, but an even easier way is to use the sysprep tool.  It will put your computer back to OOBE or out of box experience mode, which basically means you can put your legit product key in.

This also has the added benefit of being able to keep your data intact.

To install the Microsoft Sysprep tools from the Windows operating system CD

    1

Insert the Windows operating system CD into the CD-ROM drive (often the D: drive.

    2

Locate the DEPLOY.CAB file in the CD directory, \Support\Tools.

    3

Open and expand the DEPLOY.CAB file, using a tool such as Winzip.exe or another tool capable of reading Microsoft CAB files.

    4

Extract the files to the directory appropriate to your Sysprep guest operating system.

After installed and executed all you have to do is check the box that says reseal and click ok.

This wont work if you have one of those bootleg corporate or vlk bootlegs however.
