How to remove pine needles from a hot tub?

A bunch of pine needles blew into my hot tub. Will the filter take care of them and if not, how can I get them out in the simplest fashion?

I would use a kitchen colander or strainer to scoop them out.  I wouldn't depend on the filter getting them, they could get caught in the pipe on the way to the filter.

An old tennis racket or similar item, put a set of old panty hose over it and skim the surface for the pine needles.  Scrub the dirt loose with a mop and use the pool vac to get it out. Then clean the filter.

To get them out simply get a pool net and scoop them out.

A pool-cleaning net would probably be your best option, since the needles may block your filter.

To clean the dirt out, I would suggest emptying the hot tub and using a wet-vac to get rid of the dirt.
