  2. Center the steering wheel. Mark the alignment of the column and the tie rod ends. Remove the front wheels. Remove the tie rod end nut. Unhook the power steering lines. Remove the bolt that holds the steering column to the rack. Remove the two mounts for the rack. Pull out the rack through the drivers side.

  3. disconnect battery

drain or siphon pwr str fluid

remove and I recommend you replace tire rod ends

disconnect lines and hoses to rack. I highly recommend you use flare nut or line wrenches as the nuts strip very easily.

then remove the two bolts holding the rack to the chassis and then install the rebuilt one.

Then get an alignment....while you are under there...inspect the ball joint shocks and struts...look for oil leaks as well.

But I suggest you buy the repair manual...Chilton's and Haynes make good copies for the weekend warrior.

    Good luck!

  4. what u need to do is first raise the car up agood two feet off the ground set jack stand of the body behind the front wheels. loosen the two rear bolts on the motor frame use a floor jack to lower the frame. do not take the bolts completely remove the fluid lines to the rack. unbolt the tie rod ends  use a hammer and pickle fork to remove the rod ends. take out the two bolts that hold the rack in and now take the rack out. you may have to twist the rack to get it out by some things but it does come out the drivers side. when putthing it back in the steering wheel shaft will only go on two ways the steering wheel will upright or uside down.  oh yah the bolts to hold the frame in can be tough to get loose.
