  1. Buy a good tuning kit and files your base and edges. He's right, really only your edges can rust so a little bit of filing should take it right off.

Note: make sure you look up and find the angles that your edges are beveled. Filing at the wrong angle will damage the edges and you wont be able to sharpen them as well.

  2. The only place the rust can form would be your edges. Sharpen them and then apply a hotwax, dry them after every use and spray some WD 40 on a rag, then wipe the edges  only with a thin film.

  3. Get the snow and moisture off of them after you ski by wiping them off with a towel. Then, store them in a cool, dry place. I'ved always used a gummi stone for my skis.

  4. Use a fine grit sandpaper like 100 grit or drywall sandpaper.  Keep skis inside to prevent rust

  5. Sometimes steel wool will work, but don't trust me on it...

  6. Just take them to the shop and they will take it off for you.  I tried steel wool, rags, files, everything.

  7. A gummi stone will remove the rust.

A coat of wax (or durable oil) on the edges will reduce rust formation.

  8. That just means your skis need to be tuned take them to a tuning shop!
