Question:

How to remove scent for the Cabbage Patch Dolls?

My daughters' baby powder scented cabbage patch dolls are extremely overpowering and I am sensitive to certain fragrances and/or scents. Would anyone have any suggestions on how I can get rid of the scent? I would hate to have to throw them away but I can't even be in the same room with them. Thank you so much in advance!

  1. Look on the doll and see if she is washable. Many are you can wash them by hand and then tumble them in the dryer on cool air. I do not think they would scent the plastic.

You can find a small seam and remove the stuffing and replace it with fresh stuffing from Michels or a local cloth store. I always use chop sticks to restuff. Wear a nose mask while doing this.

  2. Place it in a pillow case once you Febreeze it. Place it in your car with the windows up during the hot day. This will take 2 days at least but no longer than a week. The smell will eventually fade away. You can not put these dolls in washing machines due to the moisture will be trapped in their heads causing mold. These are surface washable only, not machine washable. The way I described also works for Strawberry shortcake dolls.
