How to remove silly putty from microfiber sofa?

We just bought a new microfiber sofabed when our kids' green silly putty found its way onto the pillow. Can anyone tell me the best way to remove it? Tape didn't work and I'm afraid to use water. Thanks!

  1. Try putting some ice in a sandwich bag and holding onto the fabric.  When the Silly Putty hardens, scrape it off.  If it leaves a residue, I'd take the pillow to the cleaners (and confiscate the Silly Putty!!)

    Good luck!

  2. Definitely ice... it will harden the silly puttym naking it easier to remove... If you have a blue ice thingy, that would be less messy than melting ice...

If it leaves a waxy residue, use a brown paper bag, place it over the spot where the silly putty was, then use the iron and place that on top of the brown paper bag, applying some pressure to soak up the residue.

  3. ICE???

  4. Go to the Silly Putty website, they have a complete stain removal guide.

    http://www.sillyputty.com/

Hit e-mail us at bottom and a pop up box comes up.

Click Stain Removal Tips and you’ll go to this link:

    http://www.crayola.com/canwehelp/stainti...

Click on Activities, Toys & More in Box 1

Then, click on either Silly Putty, or Silly Putty Crystal with Glitter in Box 2

Then click on the surface it’s on in box 3

They list specific instructions depending on the type of Silly Putty and the surface you have the stain on.

Good luck, they claim it should come out for you.
