  1. The red paint mark is merely a slight transferal of paint from the other car. A compound or polish is not needed until the paint is removed. First clean the car then follow through by claying. I suggest you purchase a moderate to severe Clay depending on its condition; make sure you use enough lube and don't apply excessive pressure. Then after the paint is removed, if needed, polish the car. This will essentially even out the clear coat of the car left from the marring of both the paint ding and claying. Compound should be your last approach if in the event polish doesn't work. Compound is the most aggressive and will remove layers of clear coat and even bare paint quickly.

  2. Believe it or not, Put A little bit of oven cleaner on it wait for a couple seconds then wipe it off. then to revive the shine use some lemon pledge. this can be tested on another painted surface before applying it to your car. I've used this method many times. But do the test first.

  3. The best approach when removing paint spots is to use a light rubbing compound which can be purchased at most car care stores (like Auto Zone; http://www.autozone.com). Use a soft cotton fowling the directions on the container. We use a small amount of compound rubbing on the spot using a circular motion with light pressure. You may need to repeat this 2 or 3 times. If you allow the compound to dry and wipe off the residue your mark should be removed.

If you apply too much pressure you will put light scratches in the paint or wear through the clear coat and permanently damage the paint.  When it doubt, visit a professional detailer like Auto One (http://www.autooneinc.com/)

  4. Buy some Meguiars Scratch X. Follow the directions and it will come off.

  5. A micro fiber cloth,and a mild rubbing compound
