How to remove sound comepletely from a video?

i made a video from my handycam. i don't want the original sound. i want to mute it completely and add a nice song to it. is this possible in movie maker? please help

  1. Yes, it's possible in Windows Movie Maker.  After adding the clip to a project you can look down near the bottom left of your screen to where the clip appears.  Right clicking on it and fooling with the properties allows you to mute it, and you can add another track over it when you're done.


  2. Do you have a mixer? If not, you can get one fairly cheaply at an electronics or music store. Once you have a mixer, you can connect your camcorder's audio output to line 1, your music source output to line 2, and fade in or fade out the music and or your camcorder's sound. You feed the output to another recorder or computer. The new movie will contain the sound or music exactly how you want it.

  3. Find an audio button (button with a little speaker) and then minimize the sound then you can add a song to the timeline.

  4. delete the audio in movie maker
