How to remove spyware?

my sister download spywares to our computer, and all of a sudden the disk C and D are gone. and the popups for spyware thingy keep popping up. help me!!!

Firstly, do NOT use Spyware Cleaner 2008...you will end up with even more problems. These are malicious codecs,

therefore you need to use a 'layered' approach to removing this parasite.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

Spybot S&D:

Download, install, update and Immunize, turn off Tea Timer then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'

Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring:

Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

Disconnect your computer from the internet

Run vundo

Restart your computer

Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left.

If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again.

Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

If the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives.

After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.

Once your scans are complete and your machine is clean, uninstall some of the programs, I suggest that you keep Malwarebytes for manual scanning, Spyware Doctor for realtime monitoring and Spybot. The remainder can be removed to save drive space, but you may want to keep the installers for future use.

You can try Spybot, it's probably one of the best out there and it's free!  Also, Bit Defender is a good one to use (it's the program I'm currently using), just make sure you only have one anti-spyware program running at a time.  Do you have a firewall?  If not, make sure you get one of those too to prevent these from occuring.  Don't bother using Microsoft firewall, as it's not great, but try Zonealarm (free).  I love it!  Plus, Zonealarm notifies you and asks your permission to allow programs access, if you so choose.  Whatever you do, make sure only one firewall is running, as they act against eachother.  

One more time, just make sure you have an antivirus and antispyware on that computer, plus a firewall on at all times.  Another word of advice, Internet Explorer is more prone to these type of spyware attacks, switch your internet browser to Mozilla Firefox instead (free download).  Since I've switched I haven't  had hardly any problems whatsoever.  Highly recommend it!
