How to remove squirrels from attic?

At the beginning of the year I found a red squirrel in my attic and just last week I found out that the squirrel had babies! I read online that squirrels have a litter of 9 babies per year and that scared me. I tried a squirrel trap with peanut butter, but it did not work. Currently the squirrel and her babies are living in my air conditioner vent and I cannot get at them. I just want to remove them without hurting them. How can I do this?

Call a pest company. They have thick gloves and can remove them and place them on a box so the mother can come get them and take them to a new home.

Squirrels are very smart,and will not fall for simple traps.Your best bet is to contact a respectful pest control company that can set up a live trap or a one way door for you.
