I have lost my car keys and i would like to remove the lock cylinder to go make another key

  1. If your paper works not all in order a local locksmith shop can do the same with the vin number obviously bring a title. I think the dealer wants insurance and blood donation to cut a key any more.


  2. you can have a lock smith come and make a key for it without taking it out and its a lot easier and a lot cheaper to do,this is what i done when i lost my keys,then two days later found them,its cheaper to have it done this way though,good luck.

  3. Don't do that. That's hard. Here's an easier thing to do. Take your photo ID and the vehicle registration to a Dodge dealer and pay them to punch you a new key. As long as it doesn't incorporate a security chip, you'll have your new key for about $15 and 15 minutes. If you wrote down the combination code, they could use that.

    A new cylinder might cost you twice that, and the time taken to take apart all the stuff in the way to replace the cylinder can help you decide what you want to do.
