How to remove the odor of olive oil on shirt?

olive oil was spilled on to clothes coz i was about to wash the laundry.. after i have laundered the clothes, the odor is still there and it is yucky uggghh.!!! i have soaked the clothes in chlorine for many times and the colors have now been damaged.. but i still wan't to remove the odor.. pls help!

i have also tried using domex, a germ fighting cleaner and the odor is there but not as icky as before...

any suggestions please

  1. Hi, I would soak them in Woolite for dark colors or colors. This detergent does not hard the color of your clothes and it really smells nice.


  2. Dawn dishwashing liquid should remove the odor (it removes the smell of cow manure from men and their clothes.....I would think it would remove the smell of olive oil as well).

  3. Depends what you want it to smell like(you could perfume), i don't know if this will work, but try getting salt and lavender, and rub them into the stain. Hope this helps!

  4. Try a hospital grade disinfectant  i.e. lemon solution. At work we use something called 'lemon mist' which is used in hospitals and cleaners use it to desinfect areas. Has a great lemon smell.
