How to remove the window crank on a '97 Cavalier?

I'm currently attempting to replace the front speakers on my 1997 Chevy Cavalier. So far, I haven't had too many issues with anything else, but once I got to the front door panels, my issues started to rise. I am able to get all of the clips out, but I cannot get the manual window crank off of the door in order to get the panel off. I have tried searching the web, but have had no luck.

Please help!!

  1. hah,it takes a special crank tool 4 this. its a u shaped clip like a horseshoethe open part is always pointed to the roller so u need a small pick to hook th opposite end and pull it out.u will see it if u get a light and pry the panel away.email if u need more.

  2. there's this tool that is like a FORK shape and it only has two claws, it's made specifically for that. go to any autoparts store and they'll tell u how to use it!
