How to remove twill tape from the wall?

I sticked a big poster on the wall using twill tape,now after 5-6 months the twill tape that I fixed on the wall become so sticky with the wall that it doesn't leave the wall.nothing works on it.even cant wash it.pl suggest what to do?

try finger nail polish remover.just be-careful and rub lightly at first to make sure it wont damage the paint.

You can use adhesive remover, Wallpaper remover, Goof-Off (be careful with this, it removes paint too).  And the best thinf to use would be a wallpaper steamer, which you can probably rent at you local tool rental shop.

Do not use polish remover' it will take the paint  off the wall!

Use mineral spirits or naptha. They will not harm any painted surface , but will easily take off any sticky residue.
