How to remove veneer from furniture?

Someone please help I have a great old veneer buffet, I love it but it is dark veneer I would like to quickly remove the veneer and then have the natural wood with a clear finish. Please a QUICK removal solution

  1. IF it is an antique, I would not try to mess with it. You are getting into something that is not that easy.  Probably, the easiest way, is to just sand it down and stain it.

    Are you understanding what a veneer is? I think you have the words Veneer and Varnish mixed up. Be wary, if it a good pc of furniture, the veneer is part of the construction and if you remove it, the pc will not be sturdy. Also, how do you know if you will like the natural wood grain? Normally, a veneer is put on because it makes the pc more beautifula nd if it is a quality pc of furniture, the veneer will be a solid hardwood anyway.. Good luck with your project


  2. A heat gun should loosen up the glue on the veneer. If there are any cracks in the veneer, stripper may loosen it some. I did a kitchen table like that. It turned out beautiful. Good luck.
