if you search the net, you'll see that kaspersky, norton, trend micro and zonealarm pro and bitdefender are the best av software.

just google this:"top ten av"

zonealarm is voted against because it can crash many programs but in fact, it's been one of the best av i have ever used. if you are the type that plays with programs to get some hands-on experience then you can figure it out.

but i recommend that you let your av as it is till you gather more info about the virus. and by the way, norton provides tools specific to each virus and you so not have to get norton installed to use them.

using hijack this can also help to diagnose the problem better(specifically if the virus is of the registry-altering type)
