  1. Wasps vecome less agressive in cold weather, never spay a large nest you will just anger the wasps

  2. If you live in a zone that has winters, just wait until after the first freeze and there will bo no active wasps to sting you.

  3. Wasps don't make honey.  A job better done in the cooler time of the day(evening or early morning) before the sun heats the wasps up.   The hotter it is, the more active the wasp.       What works real good for a neutralizer on wasps is Windex(or no name blue stuff) in a applicator that you can adjust the stream to be like a water pistol jet.    Then just "shoot the nest" at the opening if it is a dome shaped type and keep blasting it and up into the nest.  Then back off and watch the wasps will start coming out-falling out like they were drunk and unable to do anything,  Most will just curl up and die immediately.   As more come out you can blast them with the Windex. (if it is a bunch of visible honey combs, the white you see are egg sacs of newborns; just hit the wasps and nest directly.   The wasps doze out immediately and will not attack you.  But it seems, they cannot fly or do anything.  If they really get soaked in the stuff, I think they suffocate and die.  They will basically vacate the nest within the day or so.  And Windex does not mess up the surrounding area like Wasp killer sprays do.

  4. I usually go to the store and get a can of wasp spray for 4 bucks and just spray the nest, I dont think your going to get honey out of it, I dont think wasps are quite the same as bee's,

    but I could be wrong.

  5. Economical method:

Ensure that you're gonna be able to run for cover (and keep a blanket with you), and ensure that nobody else is around who could get hurt.

Take a stick that's long enough and go WHAM onto the nest. Hit it at the highest point so that the nest falls down. Again, you have to make sure nobody is standing below.

Another option is holding a metal rod with burning newspaper at it's end, right below the nest.

Both are a lil dangerous....make sure nobody gets hurt.

  6. Call your local county agricultural extension service for the best advice.

  7. Just be swift on your feet and knock it down with high pressure water or a stick.

If they are paper wasps ,they are really non aggressive and harmless unless their nest is disturbed.I leave them alone around my house untill the cold weather arrives and they vaccate their houses.

I let them crawl around on my arms and face have never been stung. They are just curious.

When people start swating at them ,it forces them to defend themselves

  8. spray WD40  on it. if there are really 1000, you might need a professional!

  9.   wasps dont make honey

wasps dont fly around at nite--they stay in the nest

you get a couple of cans of wasp spray

you spray the nest at nite to kill them all in the nest

you drop the thing in a heavy duty contractors plastic bag

           you throw it out

A better way for my mind is to spray the nest at nite with a co2 fire extinguisher and freeze them to death and then baggem up
