How to remove white wine spill on beige carpet?

The spill happened over a week ago. When I spilled it I just blot it with a paper towel because I didn;t think it was going to stain. Boy was I wrong. Theres a huge dark stain now, that just staring looking noticable. Whats the best way to remove this?

Be careful with the peroxide. I have cream colored carpet and it made it lighter in the spots where I had some blood stains. It got the blood out. Test in a inconspicuouss place first. Also try oxyclean and you can try liquid Capture carpet cleaner for steam cleaning machines. You can get this at home depot.

I'm going to guess that the dark stain is dirt that has begun to stick to the residue from the wine.  

You should be able to thoroughly wet a towel and scrub the carpet in that area (assuming you don't have one of those wet-vac carpet cleaners) then put a dry towel down and stomp on it to soak up any remaining water.    You probably don't need to add any detergent to the water, wine and it's remnants are water-soluble.    Repeat the above process a couple of times and let it dry.

Oxiclean laundry stain remover spray

spray it wet with it then press a white towel on top by stepping on it, then let it set there for an hour or so. then lift up the towel and the stain will be gone. I clean many carpet stains this way!

You could try using hydrogen peroxide.

Use some rubbing alcohol and blot it with paper towels. keep doing this several times. The rubbing alcohol will evaporate!

Peroxide removes wine stains from carpets and material. They disappear like magic when you blot it on.
