How to remove window tint film???

Question

I just got a car with tinted back windows which are too dark to see out of!

Looks like its the DIY film stuff!

Anyone know how to remove it??

I've done this a few times myself and whatever you do, do not simply pull it off. You'll have glue residue stuck to your windows which is a pain to remove.

What you should do is use a normal hair dryer. Not a heat gun! This could damage your car.

Simply blow hot air on the area you are about to pull away and slowly peel the film off. Move the hair dryer along as you pull the film away.

It takes quite a while to take it off properly so patience is a virtue!

hi

you'll need to use a fair bit of warm soapy water to lift the edge of the tint, then carefully strip it off the window. once you've got all the tint off. use a small cloth and a little bit of white spirt to remove the last traces of the glue. take your time and it'll clean up great

They sell a spray, and also you Will need a scraper.

take a hair dryer and heat it up around the edges, then peel it off...its really that simple! good luck!

Well I think you might be able to use a heat gun but not sure. You might also go to a parts store that sell the stuff and ask them.

It just pulls off. You need to pull hard, and using a scraper may get the little bits off. Then wash the window with soapy water to get the glue off. If that doesnt work, meths will get sticky stuff off.
