I've had this virus which totally screws my PC up and it redirects my google searches through www.copy-book.com so I can't surf the internet.

I've searched and I think I have zlob.DNS because it is redirecting me and making my internet and my computer considerably slower. I have windows XP by the way.

I have tried numerous amount of scans and spyware scans with NOD32, spyware s&d, mwalwarebytes and so on... I still can't get rid of this annoying bug which is slowly killing my computer!! Please help, p.s. I have found this site:

http://www.exterminate-it.com/malpedia/remove-zlob-dns-changer#howfiles

which tells you how to remove it but that will take so long and if it aint that then it would be pointless, is there a way to remove all the files listed at that site automatically?

I've also tried there antivirus and it doesnt work...

PLEASE HELP!

  1. Hi

    You could follow these instructions:

  2. Go to kaspersky home site and download and install kaspersky 2009 internet security trial and scan!

  3. zlob is quite pesky but you can still delete it manually. here's manual removal tutorial http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-zlob.htm...

the scan you've already run may have been interrupted by zlob, you should run antispyware scan in safe mode in order to detect and delete zlob trojan.

  4. try:

If this does not do the trick post a HJT log at bleeping computers.

  5. Your problem is a type of adware call hijackers.

At your internet explorer, you should disable all add-ons.

Also disable third party browser extensions.

If you use spybot search and destroy, you must enable the advance feature.

Spybot host file locking is a tool which locks the hosts file to prevent unauthorized changes.

    Locking the hosts file will prevent most hosts hijackers (even unknown) from doing harm;

Locking the IE settings will prevent other users of your computer to change your preferences.

Windows utilize a restore utility that backs up selected files

automatically to the System volume information /System Restore folder.

This means that an infected file could be stored there as a backup file,

and most anti-virus programs will be unable to delete these files. You

must disable the System Restore Utility to remove the infected files

    from the folder

You must boot up in safe mode and disable system restore when you scan for virus using NOD32.
