Every time I try to rename a picture in my documents it tells me that if I change it it might become unusable. What should I do?

  1. rightclip-drag copy rename, see if its still usable, if it is then you can just rename all your files without worrying, if something happens, (i would think unlikly that it would become unusable) just keep the names the same, and it would be something wrong.

  2. dont delete the file type at the end....if its a .jpeg, or a .psd (or whatever photoshop is) leave the .(file format here) at the end....

    Hope this helps!

  3. when a picture is saved it is usually saved as a jpeg.  for example, christmas2008.jpeg

if you only change the first part as in from christmas2008.jpeg to christmas2007.jpeg but keep the .jpeg at the end of it you should be fine.

  4. As has been said, just change everything before the .[file extension]. If you want to just avoid the whole extension issue, go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab and check "Hide extensions for known file types"
