How to repair a ripped boat tarp?

My tarp for the boat has about a 1 foot rip right down the middle. Does anyone have any ideas on what to use & how to repair this? Thanks in advance!!

Put duct tape on both sides of the rip, and then if you want , hand stich it or just leave. Either way, it works very good. What would the world do without duct tape?

you can try hand sewing it. you will need a large needle and probaly waxed linen thread.

a place that supplies harness makers,or a farm supply store would probably have what you need.
