We have a new pup who decided to bite a tiny thin tear in the cushion of our new microfiber couch. i can slightly see the yellow fluff inside and it worries me that it will become larger if we continue to sit on it. Does anyone know if microfiber can be repaired? I didnt know whether I should use some fabric glue or what? i think trying to sew it would make it look worse and more noticeable. also ive seen the answers about head and bond and putting a patch underneath but this tear is too small to put anything like that underneath. any suggestions? thanks

  1. It makes no differce with the size.  All you do is cut a much larger piece of patch.  You will need area for the iron-on to adhere to.

  2. This, http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-25247-Fab... , is what I use.  If you can open up the cushion, you can get a sub-patch on first.  The kit above has a number of cups of different color microfibers that you blend to match color, then apply in a couple of layers.  While I think the picture of the patch on the front is pretty unrealistic, it does a good job on microfiber.   You can find it at Wal*mart or auto parts stores.
