Question:

How to replace kitchen counter tile?

I am moving into a new place and the tile is horrible. It's in a wierd mosaic pattern. It's chipping and the caulking is practically gone. It is black and orange. What would be the easiest way to replace the tile on the counter and the wall? They are all pretty loose already and I know that I will need to pull them off, but where do I go from there? Thanks.

  1. Best thing for a newbie tile-layer to do would be to research the subject on the Internet.  Once you feel you you're ready to start your first project;  do a fairly simple but similar project.  I would suggest covering a rectangular end table, coffee table, or patio table & see how it goes for you & how it looks to others.  If you do well with the project; that's the easy part...the difficult part will be removing all the tiles & grout & then prepping the old counter top & wall.

    Have fun!

  2. call a bricklayer will be better .....

  3. this is a total DIY project once they come off just get the adhesive and relay them.

    BUT

you may have to change out the board underneath due to damage since you say it was cracked already. but if not just clean it up and go

    good luck

if you dont want tile, call in the granite guys and they can handle everything for you
