Hi Ed,

Just curious... how don we stop these spam notices that come from you as the moderator.

I'm some people are interested in surveys, stats and saving on groceries

but my understamding is the group's purposes are http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/kwbuyandsell/

Garage Sale

For Rent

Post any of the above as message posting, photo, file, or link.

I didn't sign up to recieve ads from US companies (which is not your home

based business). As well using your position as moderator to advertise

items that other members are proihibited from doing by your policies

seems inappropriate.

I like recieving information on items, not your usdiscounts promotions.

  1. Well, it's supposed that if you select that message as spam then it will be deleted and you won't receive more messages from that account. Of course, you need to configure that on your yahoo mail account.

It's supposed also that Yahoo will use those addresses to prevent spam, so I guess they'll find out what to do with it. If not, I think that you should contact some guy of yahoo in the appropiate section, I mean, you'll have to find some link that send you to a page where you can report that kind of things, but not in YG, of course.

  2. Yahoo only cares about their own TOS (terms of services) and they could hardly care what rules a group has (as long as it doesn't violate TOS) or if they break their own rules. sorry.

you may want to leave this group and find one more to suit what you're looking for. you're in a group that allows anyone to join and members can post w/o moderation and to top it off, it has open archives, it's wide open for spammers and the one spamming isn't the owner, but a recent joining member. the last time the owner posted in that group was may 2007.
