How to report a person driving without a license?

I know a person who regularly drives their car without a full license. Their car is taxed and insured under their partners name but the person in question frequently drives the car alone, and sometimes with their small child.

I feel this is very irrseponsible, especially to drive with their child in the car and would like to know how I would go about reporting them?

  1. DVLA

  2. If you wish to remain anonymous, telephone Crimestoppers. If you don't mind the police knowing who you are, telephone them on their non-emergency number and tell them what you know. Tell them the name of the driver, the car and its registration number.

  3. ID JUST FONE DA POLICE AND ASK THEM.GOOOD LUCK CHUCK

  4. GOOD ON YOU, PHONE THE POLICE IF THEY RUN INTO YOUR CAR THEY ARE NOT INSURED. WORSE STILL IF THEY KILL A KIDDIE AND YOU KNOW YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED IT, DO IT NOW. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT BLEEDING HEART, LIBERAL HALFWIT ,VAPOUR. THEY WOULDN'T SAY THAT IF IT WERE THEIR KIDDIE.

  5. I suppose if you feel strongly about this, you could send anonymous letters to the DVLA and local police, giving the details you mention, the car registration number and the name/address of the person. That will probably do the trick. Police have car registration plate recognition equipment and the person will soon be 'pulled over'.

If you are brave, you could tell the person that you are going to report her! If you report anonymously, would the person guess that it was you anyway? Be prepared to deny it!

It's odd that people who do such things regard people who report them as 'sneaky' or 'grasses'. They would soon change their tune if a relative or friend of theirs were killed by an unlicensed driver. The insurance would then be invalid anyway. Note that the police have the power to seize the car and have it crushed it the fines and fees are not paid. The driver will probably also be breathalised and the car - including baby seats - checked to see if other offences have been committed. If a baby is on board, the police will arrange for its care in the short-term, as the mother has to walk home! Go for it! The fewer such people on the roads, the better.

  6. Phone the police

  7. The police need proof.  If you can video tape them. Then call the police and tell them you have proof.  It will

    (a) make their job easier

    (b) it will make sure that he doesn't talk himself out of it.

Don't video tape it from your own house window.  You don't want him to know (eventually) that you reported him.  You don't need that - even though you are watching out for his and his childs fair.

    Good Luck...

  8. There are too many people getting away with this.  Phone your local police station with the resistration number and the persons name and address.  They will soon have them nicked.  Bet it won't stop them driving the car though.

  9. oh no hes not insured....ring the fuzz

  10. the dmv website has a RAT REPORT

  11. I would speak to them first, get them to rethink what they are doing, and advise they might be putting their life, their childs life and other innocent people's life at risk.

Remind them that they could face hefty fines and obvious trouble from the police which will affect them financially and make life for their kid hard.

If they fail to heed that responsible advice, then rethink this question.

If they didnt have a child, then i would say just roll in with guns blazing and drag them down and get them in deep trouble, but i am thinking about the child's situation as priority.

If you're not in a situation to have this sort of conversation then try posting an anonymous letter through their door one morning or something, so they can rethink their irresponsible actions.

  12. Just ring the police, but if you identify yourself be absolutely sure you are right, any inflammatory statement that you make which is untrue could cost you a great deal of money.

  13. make a free call to crimestoppers you dont have to give them your details their number is 0800 500 111

  14. phone the police and give them the car plate number and explain like you done to us they will do something about it ...........
