How to reset a 95 Camaro security light?

Question

I have a 95 Chevy Camaro 3.4L. When I bought the car, the previous owners installed a venom alarm system and keyless entry. When I open the door with the key and not the keyless entry the alarm goes off and I can not start my car until it resets. Is this how the security system is designed to work? Also recently my security light has become lit on my dash. When ever my car is running it is lit, the only time it is off is when the car is turned off. How do you reset the security light?
