How to resolve failure of cd-rom?

The first thing I would do, is check My Computer Management.

Right click on> My Computer >Left click on Manage>>click on all + symbols and look for any ?  in yellows.

Do update on your manufacturer's drivers.

You can blow an air compressure to the CDRom drive to get rid of the dust and clean the inside lens.

If you had the guts to open this. Make sure you return it in its proper place. Dont forget your most important tool to open the drive in unscrewing the screws.
