  1. this is microsoft os currepted or virus fault

  2. Chances are

    - Some of the Windows OS files could be correpted

    - Virus could have infected some of the Windows OS files.

Resolution - Needs to reinstall Windows OS.

  3. Blame it on M$ for everything thats wrong with the computer folks. I can not imagine a world without windows today. If M$(I don't like it personally) is where it is today, it must have done something right. Why can't we look for what we have done wrong? Has anyone thought that it could be his AV trying for a memory scan before the computer shuts down because the user did not change the settings. Or that you as a user were actually naive to click on links of Naked pictures of Anna Kournikova without thinking of the consequences? When was the last time you ran a scan on the computer with the updated AV & Antispyware. What is your available memory on HDD & what RAM (SIMM or DIMM or DDR1/2 & how much in MB) are you using? Are you actually using WINDOWS or no? A even Linux needs to be shutdown. & beleve me, this problem can come in Linux too. People start thinking what could be wrong before jumping to conclusions & saying corrupt OS/Virus/Spyware without thinking of anything else. Stop acting like you are reading from a book or so called techno expert because you have a computer & you format it at the drop of a hat. Its not a solution to all the problems.

For the questioner, please do tell us What OS are you running, if windows, what AV are you using, what anti spyware, RAM & HDD size, Also how long does it take to boot the computer? If you are running lots of programs on your computer, try disabling them. Stop the ipod service etc at startup, check AV settings if it is set to scan memory before shutdown.
