How to respond to e-mail?

A relative of mine just e-mailed me and ask me if there was anything that I NEEDed for college? I have not gotten my personal supplies yet nor have I paid the tuition. What should I tell them without coming off as demander or user?

  1. just let them know that you need this and that, but not to expensive.  be casual about it.  tell them anythig is fine.


  2. they asked what you needed, send a list and they can pick.

  3. I would just let them know. Depending on how close you were. I am sure it would approperiate to tell them you needed supplies

  4. Maybe you could tell them you haven't yet started on your school supply shopping or paid your tuition, but, you plan to begin soon.  That might work for them to offer some kind of assistance themselves, that way you don't sound pushy.

  5. Since they are the one to bring it up I dont think you ae a user. Tell them that if they really want to give you something a gift card to walmart or target would be nice to help you get your needs in order. If you are not comfortable with that then just tell them thanks for thinking of you and you will let them know if you need anything.
